FASBE Files: Record Update Flows

These documents provides helpful information for record and file updates for major points in the FASBE data entry process. They can guide you in gathering record information which may be needed to resolve problems.

Applying the information gained through these notes requires a strong working knowledge of the FASBE utility, PASUTL. PASUTL allows direct write-access to your FASBE database and, therefore, no audit trail is made of actions taken.

It is critical that you contact ISI-Exeter Customer Support about the conditions in which a database corruption occurred. Notifying Customer Support of a system or program failure as soon as possible expedites your users' return to normal activity.

Please remember that knowledge of record updates is not always the best way to resolve a program failure. Based upon discussion with a Customer Support analyst, it may be determined that restoring to your last backup is a better course of action.

To expedite loading of the record update flow pages, the information has been organized by subsystem:

In addition, the FASBE$LOG_IO switch can help determine at what point a program failure occurs. Your support representative may instruct you to define this switch before entering into the FASBE system.

Contact ISI-Exeter Customer Support for assistance in analyzing your output.
